Scratch Intro

After creating my first scratch task, I found out that it is a lot more simple than I thought. There is a lot that you can do with backgrounds. They provide many, you can upload your own photos, or make one on your own there is also the option of taking a picture for one. The same options are available for sprites, you can use one provided, upload one, take a picture or make one. During your scratch showing, you can also make characters switch costumes and you can switch the background.

HTML Thanksgiving Website with Pictures

This is the link to my website: \\studfilesrvr-01.students.rpsdistrict.local\2018\Kayla.Martignetti\10th Grade\Computer Science\5 test.html

(This is #6 with photo shopped photos.)

On the first picture, I used the smudging tool to make the middle the focus. I also used a tool called burn tool on the food. I also lightened the photo in some places.

On the second picture, I blurred the background to make sure that the Pilgrims and Native Americans were where everybody would look. I lightened the image a lot as well. I also used the sharpen tool to make the image look more clear.

On the third and fourth images I did similar things,  I used a tool that made it look like it was a painting. Then in both, I blurred certain places like leaves and things like that. Finally I used lightening and darkening tools to alter the shade.

W3Schools HTML Quiz Results

After finishing the HTML quiz, I was surprised about how much I knew. As I was going through the questions, I thought that I would know almost none of the questions. I did not do very well, I got a 64%. There are many things that I still do need to know. I need to learn how to add a background color, adding a hyperlink, adding a table, making a numbered list, making a text input field, making a drop down list, making a text area, background image, and displaying a webpage.

Intro to HTML

To make my website, I used the tool notepad. This allowed me to type the HTML tags. Once I had typed in all of the tags and labeled what I wanted it to be labeled, I simply copied what I created and pasted it into W3Schools website. By pasting it into this website, I was able to view what I had created. Something that I want to know is how you make it an interactive website, with buttons that link you to other websites.

X-Ray Goggles

This is the link to my page that I edited.

When I was using the X-Ray Goggles, you were able to change text, and images. This was fun to do because you could make it look like a completely different webpage than what it was. I reworded the directions so that it portrayed the same message, but it told you what to do in a different way. It was cool to be able to make what the website says completely different.

Eliza and Artificial Intelligence

After playing with the Eliza chatbot, and Alice chat bot I think that they have many flaws. I believe that they use too many of the same responses repeatedly. They also should answer questions. They often say something that was not even relevant that does not relate in any way to what I was previously saying. Overall, I think the biggest problems is to give answers that are more helpful, and more intelligent. They should ask questions, and make sure not to repeat the same phrase more than once, elaborate on what they are saying because often it does not make sense and last they should only say something if it is relevant to the current topic.

Results of 20 Questions

Today in class we played twenty questions online. The computer program asked a lot of questions, and tried to figure out what you had in your head. The first one we did was Disney, and our character was Donald Duck. We answered all of the questions to the best of our ability referring to the character. In the end of the round, the computer guessed Donald Duck on our 19th turn. I think that playing 20 questions was fun. I think that it was easy for the computer to guess topics that people use commonly. Donald Duck must have been one that people use for the Disney category because it is a well known character. If we put in a character that had not been as well known as him, we may have made it farther in the round. The more common the topic, the more likely the computer will guess what your topic is and maybe a bit faster as well.

Design Tools Assignment #3

Since design one, making the patterns has definitely got a lot easier. When I was making the first design, I was unsure of how to make them the most efficient way possible. It was easy to figure out once I got to the second and third ones.  This one especially was easier than numbers one and two. I really liked the option of triangles on this specific pattern because there were a lot of triangles in it. Using the triangle setting, it reduced the amount of time because I did not have to make a lot of lines just in order to make a triangle, instead I just make one triangle in the same amount of time that you can make one line in.

Basket Weaving #2

To make this image of the dog, I used the technique of lines. It was a lot easier to be able to make a whole line of dots instead of make one point at at time. I had fun making this dog and I think that the technique I used worked well for me. I think that making lines instead of points is also a lot more efficient because you are getting a lot more done at a time instead of taking too much time just for a line.

Computer Science Blog Post #1

My name is Kayla Martignetti, I am fifteen years old. I went to Parker Middle School. My favorite activities include dance and swimming in the summer. Summer is my favorite season of the year because I love the weather. During April vacation last year, my family went to Florida for the week. Florida is my favorite spot to go on vacation. I have three brothers in my family, and I also have a dog who is a Boston Terrier named Bruno, and two cats named Oreo and Bella. My favorite subject in school is history because I love learning about things that happened in the past leading up to the very moment we are living in. I took this class because I am interested in computers, and out of all of the business classes this one looked the most interesting. Last year, I took intro to business with Mr.McCarthy and this is my last required course of business but I think I will want to try another type in the future.
